Hey everyone!

Very excited to be back... got a 55-gallon hand-me-down!!!

Heres the occupants so far:
2 Black Veil angels
1 Queen Pleco
2 Commons (Growing for an indoor pond)
1 Newt

With the newt lies the question. I picked him up at a LFS labled as a "fire-bellied" newt, but after looking at some pictures, he looks nothing like them.

This ones entire body is like a light orangish, and he has an extremly long fin-like tail. He's about 5-6'' now. Asked the LFS if he needed some land in the tank which he replied no, but I still added a piece just incase. Intresting thing, the newt could care less about the land.

Its early in the morning so I can't get any pictures up right now, but when I return from work I plan on taking a few so you guys might be able to help me out.

thanks!

Judging by that description he may be a giant firebelly newt or more likely a paddle-tailed newt. Very few species of newt enjoy tropical temperatures.
