I'm in the second stage of cycling my tank and my nitrites are getting high and ammonia is zero. Will adding nutrafin cycle cause my nitrates to go very high because it seems that both nitrites and nitrates are high and the only cause i can think of is the cycle that i added.

Are you doing a fishless or fishy cycle? How long have you been setup and what's in the tank?

What exactly are your water readings, and what kind of testing equipment are you using? I used cycle on my tank, and it seemed like my ammonia fell to zero very quickly, but I had a very long nitrite cycle, it took 6 weeks before they fell. If your nitrites are above .25 (assuming you have fish in your tank) then you need to do water changes till it comes down.

2 mollies in the tank.
Ammonia is 0ppm
Nitrite stays at about .25ppm with water changes
nitrate reads off the scale

If you have fish in there, you need to be doing water changes whenever ammonia or nitrites hit .25

Stop using that nutrafin cycle stuff. ;)
