I was really beginning to think my tank would never cycle! It has been up and running for 8 weeks and as of 2 days ago I never had even a trace of Nitrites or Nitrates. Yesterday I tested the ammonia and it was sitting at .5 which is pretty good since I haven't done a water change in about a week ( I had been doing them about every 2-3 days to keep the ammonia below .25). Tonight I tested the ammonia again and it seemed a little below .5 so out of curiosity I tested my Nitrates and I have 5ppm!!!! :) :) :) I know it is not much but I am THRILLED to see a sign of cycling going on. I plan on doing a water change tomorrow to hopefully get that ammonia down to 0 where it will hopfully stay!!!! :) :) :)

Thankfully, through this process all 15 of my tetras and my 2 dwarf gourami have thrived. :)

congrats

Great ! Well done - be extra vigilant on nitrite testing and water changes as you now likely will have ammonia and nitrite going on; double trouble.

Congrats! But I would do a water change whenever you see ammonia or nitrites at .25
