Hey all!

As many here know, I lost "Mo" recently, so I was wondering if, when I get my tank set back up at home, I could add a few more albino C. aeneus to the tank...I wouldn't mind doing some breeding (in a separate breeding tank set up ahead of time, where the adults would only temporarily have a home). I know that I have one and one, so I was thinking of getting two more males in order to get that 1-3 ratio that works so well for Cories. (I've read that that works better than the standard 1-2 ratio.)

Sorry about Mo.
It seems you have room for a few more cories, but make sure they have decent furniture and that you break up the bottom decore some. They also like different textures, like small gravel, a few larger rocks and a patch of sand. Why not try some neons instead, or a single angel?
Breeding corys isn't easy, try searching under the catfish forum for everything posted by Yannfulliquet. 'What Yann doesn't know about corydoras isn't worth knowing, (I'm quoting a moderator, I can't remember which one).
good luck
:)

Was Yann a member before the board switch? There isn't all that much there, but there is a quick Cory breeding thread that tells me that I may need to wait a bit to breed them, but that's it.

I have a 10 gal, do I still have room for more Cories, or some Neons, or an Angel?

Actually, a 10 is too small for an angel, disregard previous post. Neons would go great, I'm just worried more cories would crowd the bottom. With approximatly 200 square inches, that gives you about 50 sqaure inches per curent cory plus the oto. Add a pair, that drops to 33 sq in.
On the other hand, with Mo's spirit being returned to the fry pool, that leaves a large area mid tank that could use a denizen or two. You could get 1 more cory and add 4 or 5 neons for a really cool balance.
good luck
:)

Thanks. I might have to do that. I'm also still considering another Betta or something like that, so we'll have to see.

By the way, that was the coolest way I've ever heard of putting that: "spirit returned to the fry pool." :)
