I have a 33 cube with a little carpet of Microsword and java moss growing on a piece of driftwood. I don't use C02 but I would like to supplement my pair of plants. I'm ready to make a big drsfostersmith order and I was going to include a glass diffuser in the order so I can DIY a CO2 when I'm ready.

:hang:

In the interm I figured I'd pick up a bottle of Flourish. The description of Flourish Excel says it's recommended for CO2 and Non C02 tanks. Do you think I'd be better off getting the Excel? or is it just watered down Flourish? Or should I get the Fundamentals Kit which includes Flourish, Excel, and Iron?

Flourish Excel is a totally different item than Flourish. Excel is a organic carbon source that can be used in place of CO2. Flourish is a trace mineral mix for the most part. It adds very low levels of macro ferts.

Excel is a great substitute for CO2 in smaller tanks.

For the rest of your ferts I would read my Guide to get a understanding of fertilization and then go to www.gregwatson.com and get bulk dry nutrients.
