is it okay if my tank smells a little bit? it smells pretty bad if you get close but other than that you cant really smell it

it's normal for it to smell a little bit. mine smells like lake water. you will get a smell, yes.

care to describe the smell? sometimes smells like rotten eggs can mean something, but usually it's fine.

doesnt smell as bad as rotten eggs but it still smells kinda bad ( only if you get close to it )

how close??? how big is the tank and what filter are you using? do you do water changes normally?

You didn't answer my questions so it's impossible to try to help you.

A tank shouldn't have a bad smell to it.

You might want to do a good water change and gravel vac.....and put some carbon in your filter.

"bad" is a subjective term. All tanks have a smell to them, some think they smell horrible while others are not bothered by the odor.
