Noobs and Pico reefs....

Hey there all; Im about to take the big step from fresh to salt; Iv been running a pretty heavy duty planted tank for a while now (daily dosing, water changes 2x a week etc…)

I was planning to going to a nanno/pico tank; something in the 2 gal range: with no master salt tank to use for water changes etc… is this a bad idea to start such a small tank with no experience?

I was always told to start off with at least a 55g tank. The more water the more time you have to correct something if it should go wrong. I started with a 55g and now have a full blown 29g reef. I am now upgrading to a 90g reef as well. If I were you I would start off with a bigger tank until you get used to the routine and maintenence it takes to keep a healthy salt water tank and then drop down in size, but that is just my opinion.
