Normal for BTA?

My BTA is always pretty closed up during the day when the lights are on in the tank, but under the lunar lights at night he opens up about 3X the size. I have a 120gal (48x24x24), with 2 duel daylight 65w pc and 2 dual actinic 65w pc. It seems to be eating, but the 2 clowns hosting in it seem like they would like a little more room during the day. I'm not sure if this is normal behaviour for a BTA?
Here's at pic of it during the day:

The clowns don't seem to be loving it to hard.
I have only had the BTA a week so maybe it just needs a little more time to adjust.

How often do you guys feed your BTA's, and what type of foods do they really like.

Little weird, but if it is happy you'll be fine, I'd worry a bit if it stays really closed more than a day or two.
