so i've had ghost shrimp for about a week now.. when i first got them, they were active.. roaming around randomly for food.. every once in a while i drop a tiny algae wafer for them... they'd eat it real quick.. then chill out for a while.. maybe groom for a few hours

now they are REALLY actively swimming around ALL the time!.. when they're done eating, they continue to keep swimming around all frantically.. is it normal for them to be THIS active??

also, this morning i saw one of the scales on my betta's head is hanging off.. do u think it is a self-inflicted injury or do u think one of my ghost shrimps picked at it while he was asleep?

My ghosties are very active. They swim around all the time. They might still be hungry though. Mine are in a community tank where they get anything that makes it past the fish. But I think that everything shrimp do is caused by food or the search for food. LOL

x2 mine do the same thing(sometimes i cant believe they are sold as feeders, they are just too much fun to watch!)

as for mr betta ,he probabley stuck his head into something and got hurt, keeping his water clean and a water change should do him good.it seems that all well cared for bettas stick thier heads somewhere interesting and lose a scale or two sometime during thier lil lives!
