hi !!
this my first post in this forum board, well i came to discuss my problem.. i have set my aquarium like 1month ago.. the problem i am facing is i see dust particles in the water..it doesnt form cloud but small dust particles all over..i have washed my aquarium twice and gravels aswell assuming as gravels are making it so.. but i think thats not the case..as i washed them thoroughly before putting them into my aquarium... it appeared soon after wen i washed and put everything back and turned on the hud light.. so what could be reason of it ? and how could i make them dissappear.. ? :help:
 
graver, what do you have for filtration? size of tank? what kind of gravel? is the particles from the filter ( charcoal? how about a picture?

Hi - welcome to the boards :) I used to have the suspended dust thing happening in my tank too - not sure where it was coming from because I have no gravel in my tnak or anything. Try a couple of things... If you have a filter with customizable media - pull it out and rinse your carbon / ammonia remover stones real well. The other thing is to stick some fine-filtration media in there (comes in a big white sheet - cut out your right size). If you're using a Bio-wheel style filter - stick the sheet in vertically - hopefully that will catch what's floating - it cleared up mine... good luck.
 
i use dolphin F-1200 internal filter .. it has a sponge underneath and a charcoal over it.. which purifies the water.. my tank is 40 liters.... buti dont think those particles are from filter.. they were before i put my filter in.. those particle cant be seen in pics.. otherwise i would have posted it ...
 
I'm sorry - I am not familiar with that model of filter, but if I figure you should be able to stick in some filter media in there... using a finer sponge will trap finer particles - hopefully u will see a difference in a day. My only theory on where I got mine from was that I notice that I get cloudy water out the tap if I don't let it run and I reckon maybe during a water change my bro may have accidentally got some in.
 
^^ .. well i believe that sponge is very fine.. but still particles are there :S

1st i thought same .. but actually dey started appearing wen i filled my tank with water.. dint even started anything.. and till now they are there.. moving with the water flow...
 
^^ ok ... but why do they appear .?? they are right from the time when i filled my tank with water .. i cleaned everything so well before.. but still its dere... and the filter i have is ony of the good ones as i have seen them in many tanks and they work fine.. i think its not becuase of filter ..
