not my betta

Ok im in need of some help here, i got this betta about 4 days ago and now all of sudden he is loosing all his color and it seems he cannot stay horizontal, could this be to the fact that this guy fell about 4 feet when the girl was sticking him into a bag when i got him
( i was so pissed off i made them give me a guarantee on him ), what is the problem and what should i do?

well, that certainly didn't do him any good, eh? but is that the problem? who knows. what are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels?

well ist a new 5 gallon tank, with filter thats been going for 2 weeks
the other inhabitants are lots of baby snails, 6 ghost shrimp, 1 amazon sword, and 2 kind of other plants i cant remember

ammonia is .50 ppm

and i dont have a test kit for the rest, could it be a bad case of fin rot, no food, and the fact he probably has some kind of brain problem?

That's high ammonia, and with the fall you could have neurological damage or swim bladder damage.

I'd say take him back to the store.

It generally isn't a good sign when they have trouble keeping level. Sorry to say.

try a primafix/melafix mix for a little bit and see before giving up.
