Nutrafin CO2 Issues

Well, the thing has finally started working. Only problem is, the bubbles all stop right after they go up the first rung and are going to the other side, and they all clump there. I don't see anything in their way, and I'm not too sure why it'd do this. DOH!

Do you have a snail in the ladder. That was my only problem. I had great results with the unit. When I got a bigger tank I went ph controlled pressurized that is great, but too expensive of a small tank.

There was a snail in there. I poked him out with a pencil, but it looks like the bubbles are still clumping...the first bubble(s) just seem to "stall" on the bubble ladder. They just kinda slow down and stop at random places. They seem a bit big too...dunno if it's just the way it starts out, or whether there's a problem

just leave it running for a bit. After a week or 2 you'll have a slime layer on the supplied b ubble ladder, then the bubbles will roll up the ladder individually. I have 2 on my 30g and get really good results from them.

Quick note:
Make sure you check the expiry date on the yeast. Expired yeast won't activate properly. It also best kept in the refridgerator.

It's the yeast that came with the stuff (activator/stabiliser packet) - it says DEL 01 2005 on the side (I think they mean December, but it looks oddly like DEL)

The next thing is, when it starts making bubbles, they will stick and not roll until the ladder gets a slime layer on it. Just be patient, it will start rollling again later.

Oh, I wasn't gonna repeat it but it wouldn't let me post that without adding a comment.

'Kay, just wanted to make sure because unless you bake with yeast you don't really think about expiry dates :)
