oceanic 2 lamp ballast ?

I've got 2 older oceanic dual lamp ballasts, the ones with the end caps. One of them is dead, does anyone know if I can run over to Homedepot and pick up a cheap flourescent ballast and splice in the end caps or do I have to drop the $60-80 for a new one?

If your lamps are 40 watt flourescent it will

Yep as long as the home depot balast matches the watts (as in your bulbs are not more watts then the balast) then you should be just fine.
