This is really starting to get bothersome. As many of you know I had quite an experience with a hitchhiker Octopus that was in my TBS LR. After a months of him eating every crustacean in my tank, I was finally able to trap and catch him. He now resides at a LFS.
Over the past week few weeks, I really enjoyed re-stocking my cleaning crew. I also met a local guy and picked up some nice coral frags at a fantastic price. I've really been enjoying the hobby. I even bought all the STUFF I need to put together a sump/refuge over the holidays.
For the past few few mornings I've noticed many of my new hermit crabs had abandoned their shells.
Since there is about 100 empty shells in the tank from the octopus days, I just figured they were "upgrading" :idea2:
NOT!!!!
Very early this morning, I checked to see if my Xynia cuttings were still attached, the snails had been moving them. Much to my suprise, what did I see perched on the glass, scoping out his next kill.................OCTO II
This is getting really annoying. He must have been TINY when he arrived or maybe even hatched in my tank. All I know is he's GOT to go and catching him is going to be a pain.
Lesson learned. While I really like being close to TBS and will without hesitation purchase from them again. I WILL NOT buy the gnarliest, critter covered, hollow, cavernous pieces of LR that I can find. I'm going for bare, plain, naked LR that looks like it could't support any life at all
