I for one am glad to hear things worked out O.K., Also glad you contacted them and didn't get in trouble. Sounds like the F&G personell in your area have their wits about them. It is far too often that folks harvest animals innocently, only to find out later they were in violation of one law or another. In far too many of those cases F&G personell have no mercy at all. The fact that they offered you a permit is even better. Hope you get your liscence and find some more mussels. I'd be interested in how it works.

yes i intend to am trying to figure out what would be the most stable enviroment ..we have an enderwater type moss that is most often found around the mussles so i am trying to grow it alone and trying to duplicate the enviroment! its quite fun to run out in the creek and take what i want...lol like plants ect ...and setup a tank...i have been toying around with the water params because i cant seem to keep them stable (matching natural enviroment)so i am not sure if its posible yet...but i am getting closer ..so heres to trying to bring nature home healthy lol...and i will keeop all updated on my mussle excursions...i am getting updates on popeye he is doing well and the gentle man from fand g has been wonderfull with his knowledge of the mussle in helping me establish a tank ..i think he wants as well as i to see them thrive in a home aquatic enviroment!

ok heres my sitch! my neice the lovely little darlin that she is has brought me a fresh water mussle. i remember reading a post about these awhile back and was wondering if anyone had any info ...i do intend to research ...but was interested in anyone elses opinions as well...every one at home here with little fish knowledge says oh just drop it into one of your tanks! ..ummm....yeah ok... help!please!

i haven't heard nothung about freshwater mussles so plz keep me posted :Angel:
