Is there a problem with keeping Bolivian Rams in the same tank as Blue Rams? I currently have 2 Bolivians and was considering getting some Blue Rams. The tank is a 55g and the Bolivians are not a breeding pair (determining their sexes is difficult so I don't know if they're male or female or both). Thanks for any input.

If you are not interested in breeding them, them I'd say it would be ok, but make sure they have plenty of hiding spaces. Believe it or not, I'm going thru this same thing right now! And what I have found is that since the Bolivian rams are so peaceful and easy-going, they get bullied by almost anything... including the smaller Blue Rams. I also have some Bolivians in a 75 gallon with a pair of Geophagus Hondae (or whatever they are now!) and the male Geophagus seems to love to chase the Bolivian rams around! No damage is ever done, not even by the Blue rams, but it stresses the Bolivians out pretty good. I'm getting ready to move some fish around since the Bolivians should be about ready to spawn again.

Good luck,
Bill C.
