I really need to get my water a little harder. Right now my KH reading is at 2 and I'm keeping some cherry shrimp in my tank. I really need to get my water a little harder but have no room left in my filter for more media. In fact, I've got so much media in there, the water is probably going over the media and not even using any of it. But it's a ten gallon tank, and the filter for it is not that big. Anyhow, I used some florida crushed coral in my 46g, 10 tablespoons of it actually, and it did the trick. So I figured 2 & 1/2 tbsp for the ten gallon should be good, but it hasn't affected the water at all!!! And it's been almost a week.
Does anyone know if it would be okay for me to sprinkle another tablespoon into the gravel in a planted freshwater tank?
