Just wondering if you can help me. I just bought a second-hand 25' python system and was really excited to try it out but it seems that there are no faucets in this house with threads on the inside of the spigot. Does this mean that I can't use the python? The set-up came with an adaptor for a narrower spigot, but it still needs to have threads, I think. So far I've made do with attaching it to the garden hose from the outside faucet and since the water comes out at about 76 F it has been working ok (got to love winter in San Diego!) But the whole point was to be able to change the water inside with out needing help to hold the hoses.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

probably gonna have to look for an adapter to go from your tap to the python....i think my husband had to change ours..

Take another look at your taps. Most modern sink taps have a filter grid at the end of them.. And to make changing it easier, the end unscrews. That's where your threads might be hiding. If it's on pretty tightly, and it should be, you might need a wrench to get it off. Just go easy, be gentle, and don't cause your sink to leak... 95% of households have these kinda taps nowdays... Hope you're one of em, python makes life soooo easy!

What Halo said.

What brand are the faucets? Are they sprayer types? The big sprayer on my "paid too much" Moen unscrews -- has to or there would be no way for anyone to install it -- but it took me a bit to figure that one out :)

LOVE MY PYTHON!!!

I can run that thing from the kitchen sink all the way upstairs to my son's 20g in his bedroom. Love it!

This answer was under Technical Help on the Python Site. "The adapter does not hook up to my faucet? When you remove the aerator, you will find that you have either a female or male threaded faucet. If you have a male threads (threads will protrude from the faucet), you will need to remove the small, inner ring from the 13-A white adapter that came with your unit. This adapter is two (2) pieces. Unscrew the small threaded end of the adapter and set it aside. Attach the larger, female piece that is left to your faucet. In the rare circumstance that it does not fit, you may need a universal adapter. One may be ordered through our Replacement Parts page."

The problem with the Python help is that it doesn't address the fact that most kitchens nowadays have sprays. Many people don't realize that the sprayer will unscrew and expose the threaded area below.

Also, I called the Python help line and they told me *not* to buy any adaptors from them. Take the part(s) to the hardware store and fit one there. It's WAY cheaper and it's the same stuff.

Hooray!!!! Thanks so much! Unscrewed the doodle on the end of my bathroom faucet and there were the male threads. You guys are great! I'm so pleased; and the fish will appreciate the correct temperature, I'm sure. Off to do a water change with ease. ...
