Omg! Insane!

The link that brought me to these forums initially described it as a (paraphrasing) "a group of self-critical people..."

I can think of few better compliments than "self-critical". It means that not so much about tolerating foolishness in others, but that you look for it in yourself and ensure that what you say and what you believe actually make sense.

The other possibility on the mysterious shrimp? I keep thinking mine have died - but it's just their cast of skins.. looks like the whole shrimp every time - but then you see them again a few days later..

I believe you!

Re: snail eating fish,

I totally believe you. I once saw my snail attack one of my dwarf frogs. I think its not that they are fast enough to catch one, its that they are slow enough to "sneak" up on them. The frog wasn't threatened by the snail until he was practically on top of him, and didn't try to get away until it took a bite out of his foot! A snail's mouthparts are very strong and could easily hold on to your fish if it wanted to. It seems that once they get a "taste" for live food they seek it. My snail would also eat my healthy plants down to the roots - including a whole pile of Java moss. I eventually moved him to a tank with no live fish or plants. Just with other snails. I even caught him eatin one of those too.

Re: Fish eating snail, Sex changing sword tails, goldfish only growing to fit their tank, and UFOs

Swordtails are give birth to live young. They produce 20-200 young after a gestation period of 24 to 30 days. They are sexually mature at 8 to 12 months and can undergo sex reversal under certain environmental conditions.

Of course it's common for an apple snail to overpower any fish that gets in it's way and eat it. I posted my proof right here.
