went into walmart. Looked into the goldfish tanks and they had worms! Out of their heads, backs, sides, everywhere. Boy did i make hell. Just wanted to share that.
Typical for goldfish, most are pond raised, including those nice feeders all the wonderfully intellegent people on here advocate feeding. They're just anchorworms anyway, easy to take care of, but just imagine what else they have....
I have one of those too, I think it's calcium from the rim maybe. when you fill your tank to just under the rim after it's been a bit lower sometimes a piece from the underside becomes dislodged that you never even noticed was forming until it fell into the tank bottom, ya think?
speaking of goldfish parasites, anyone ever seen fish lice. LFS had to pull some off of some ornamental goldies and had them swimming around in a jar at the service counter. They were the most alien looking little buggers I've ever seen..
EWWW!! Do the aquarium "bugs" have to be introduced to the tank somehow? Like by bringing in new fish etc.? Or are they microscopic kind of things that are always there, but can get out of control!! I think I would be really freaked out to have bugs in my tank
