Big Als is a canadian company. However when you order in the USA your oder is not shipped from Canada. Big has a large wharehouse in Buffalo, NY from which all American orders are shipped.

I am in NY and pay no sales tax. You are only charged sales tax if the seller maintains a retail location in your state. Since Big sells nothing from the wharehouse, just ships orders, I do not have to pay any tax.

However, Bigs has begun to open retail outlets in the USA, I believe at least one is open in FL and would assume FL residents would have to pay sales tax. However, it may also be possible that the mail order and retail operations are legally set up in such a way as to avoid this. I can't say for sure.

Did big als do away with Double points Wednesdays?

It's still listed on their VIP program information, but there's normally a countdown time to the end of it.. isn't there?

I've had good results with Drs. Foster & Smith.

I was looking for aquarium lighting at Big Als today and they are a few bucks cheaper than Foster & Smith. But some items I need from F&S cannot be found at Big Als. In my opinion, F&S website is more easy to navigate and more presentable than BigAls.

I have two previous orders with F&S and they just ship very fast!

I usually shop between Big Als, Drs F&S and Ebay.
The Drs carry glass tops and Big doesn't.

Where to find cheap 65 gallon tank?

I live about 2 hours away from Denver and Colorado Springs and need a 65 gallon tank and stand. Anyone know of a good place that will ship (or is located in Colorado) that won't KILL the budget on this size tank? Thanks everyone!
