I have 6 cichlids that I got at the same time, they have all grown significantly. When I bought them they were about one inch now all but one if about 4 inches. There are two albino zebras, two electric yellows, one normal zebra, and one electric blue. One of the albino zebras is still small, he/she eats, defends his/her little corner of the tank and otherwise seems normal. Any suggestions?:help:

As with humans fish are no different he/she may just decide to take off on a growth spurt anytime and or it may take a while to do so and there is the chance it may be stunted due to an imbalance within itself..

For whatever reason its not growing normal still provide and offer the best you can for your fishes it may come around or not.. I believe genetics play a big role as well with all of the inbreeding and fouling of gene pools sometimes we just land a special fish..

Take care and welcome to the AC..

:iagree:110%. Of my 5 aceis, I bought 4 at the same time. Each one has a different size; the biggest is 3 1/2 inches long and the smallest is 2 1/4 inches long and is half as tall as the biggest one.
Also, remember that females are usually smaller than males.
Welcome to AC and enjoy this forum! :thm:

also a possibility that its a female... in my experience all of my females have seemed to grow a lot slower

I have a 6 month old yellow lab (who is the same age as her mate) and the male is 3 times her size and they breed all the time

Size tank and how much water are you changing weekly ? Hormones released by fish can prevent others achieving a good size.

Also, if you get one which is just naturally not a big fish (just like people can be a lil smaller/lil bigger) the smaller guy will often get out competed for food, compounding the difference.

Also, welcome to AC :D
