my onions are growing like crazy, can i trim off the leaf or do i have to cut off the whole leaf from the bottom, at the bulb?

Hey Wil, I think Chris (from Syr. Aq) had told me you can trim them. I'm assuming that the reason no one else responded was 1) they don't know for sure either or 2) you didn't include the scientific name (Crinium)? How's everything going in the tank?

Hey Bill,
Things are pretty good so far, lost a few chocolate Gouramis but i found out those are "big boys stuff" once i'm really experience in this hobby, will look into a chocolate gouramie tank.
the plants are looking good, minor hair algae, but nothing to freak about.

actually leave the existing leaves intact, instead go for the source of the problem.
try gently spreading the plants leaves until you see the meristem in the middle, clip about 60 percent of it off and the onion should produce 2 meristems that grow leaves roughly half the size of the original
