Online Purchases?

I'm currently in the process of rounding up all my items for my new 55 gal. I truly want a natural looking FW sand substrate. I've looked everywhere- locally & online- for the sands recommended(i.e. pool filter sand). Finally, I've located an online store seacorals.com that lists sand for fw or sw and a very reasonable price. ($13.99/30lbs).

I'm just wondering if anyone's used this brand of sand in a fw, or purchased items from this supplier?

Additionally, has anyone purchased fish online before? Success stories? Things to watch out for?

Um... have you tried looking for bagged play sand at home depot or lowes etc.?

I've had great luck with purchases online of a variety of stuff. Things to look for: before you order, KNOW what warranty they have on live fish, and what you'll need to do to prove a claim if there is a fatality--many places now require an image of the deceased fish, still in the original packing, so you have to have a digital camera handy.

You dont want to know how much shipping is going to be...30 lbs is HEAVY and you will be charged out the yang... You should be able to find suitable sand locally...Did you try a pool/spa place???? If they dont have it, they will know where you can get it...
