OPERATION: CHIA PET

ILOVEBETTAS

It's Cory Lover's cat!
I am testing for fun to see if chia seeds grow faster on a chia pet or on soil.

My hypothesis: The chia seeds will grow faster on the soil.

Testing:
1. To see how fast chia seeds grow on different material in the same conditions
2. Also testing how long they live with the same conditions

Also trying for fun: How fast chia seeds grow on wetted paper towels and how fast they grow on aquarium gravel.

Chia pet: Chia pet was socked for 24 hrs. and planted. It was watered also (meaning that there is water on the inside)
Dirt and chia pet: Damp mud/dirt was placed inside a box and chia seeds were scooped on top.

These will both be watered daily.

i used to have a chia... it never worked, i hope you have better luck then me

I always had good luck with them. Used to get them every year around christmas. Kids love them. Soakig the ceramic seemed to be the trick for them.

Great idea! Then again, I'm the guy who read the entire article on the "Furby autopsy". Let us know how it goes... Chia.. the timeless wonder of it all!

I've never had one of them before... we had sort of... potato-headed ones in stockings that we grew, but they weren't all registered-trademark C-in-a-circle type thing. Good luck with your experimentation into the depths of boredom :D
