Well this is my first attempt at doing a reef, and its still under construction but I want your guys opinions about what I got going and if it will work or not.

55gal tank, Current PC fixture 4ft, 2 65 watt daylight bulbs, and 2 65 watt atinic bulbs, along with moonlighting. I am running an Emperor 280 on it, with a 3-4inch DSB and considering adding a powerhead for more water movement. I also have a 200 watt ebo jager on it for heating. There is probably 50 lbs of live rock in there. All I have in it for live stock at the moment is 1 blue devil damsel, 4 baby ocellaris clowns, 2 neon tip sebae aneneomes, and a few scarlet reef crabs.

What I would like to know is what you guys would suggest for corals, and other aneneomes, really I have all the fish I want in there, and the damsel will be going as soon as I Can catch the little bugger. I would also like to know what you guys think of that set up and if you think its a decent one or if I need to change something. Thanks ahead of time guys!

I am one who loves emperor filters. The 280 is good for about 2 feet of tank lenght. The 400s are good for about 3 feet of tank lenght IMO. I use 2 400s on my soft coral and anemone 55 gallon tanks.

As to more anemones, I would not add any more to a 55. The 2 you have, will out grow it in a year or two anyway. Plus anemones have pretty good stings and can injury a lot of corals you might want to add.

IMO your tank has enough light for Zoos, mushrooms, Bubble, colt, Kenya tree, and pipe organ corals.
