I am not an expert oscar owner but I do have some experience with them. And I have never seen one of my oscar do this before.
The tank is a 75 gallon tank, some catfish, 2 oscars about 4" or so one albino, one tiger, and also one firemouth.
This last week or so I have been up kinda late studying for tests, or not being able to sleep because of staying up late studying for tests, anyway...I have been up late lately.
When I turn on the hall light and walk by the tank my tiger oscar is laying on its side at the surface of the water at the front corner of the tank. The first night I saw this I thought "OH MY....this is not good....dead oscar" but no....I dropped some food in there and he "hopped" right up, ate it, and swam around. So I made a point of checking up on him this last week and except for a night or 2 I have found him in this exact place, its like that is his bed or something? Now when I go out there I get down to his level and just look at him, there are no signs of sickness, other than laying on his side, he is breathing normally, good color. He just looks at me like I'm disturbing him so I go back to bed and in the morning he is swimming around like nothings wrong?
Just concerned, wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior.
