Oto and Betta - What do you think?

I would like to add a small algae eater to a tank with three Bettas, but I'm not sure about the compatibility issue. In particular, I would like to add an Otocinclus.

What are the odds that this combination would work out? I have adequate space, plants and there are hiding places. Last but not least, I have a nice crop of algae on the back of my tank, and the water requirements are similar for both types of fish.
 
i've had two bettas with my oto and they've been fine. i did see my betta flare up at te oto while eating this morning but then went on his way.
 
It's a 10 gallon, so I'm right at the limit with an Oto... problem is, I see that they are usually kept in groups of at least two, so that would be pushing it. I have only one in a smaller tank with a couple of Dwarf Puffers. I suppose I could try him out in the Betta tank.
 
Three Bettas. Sorry if I confused you. I was thinking of trying out an Oto in the Betta tank that I am currently housing in a Dwarf Puffer tank... to see how things would work out. That is, take the Oto out of the Dwarf Puffer tank and put him in the Betta tank for a bit. What concerns me is that it is recommended Oto's be kept in groups of two or more. So, I would be pushing the stocking limit for the 10 gallon Betta tank.
 
well, you could try it, I've kept ottos by themselves with no ill-affects.
I have a rummy nose tetra by himself(all his buddies died) and he has bright colors and acts fine.
