Hi :)
This is my first post - I'm Kim.
My otos are currently spawning and I can even see the eggs they are laying on a few of the plant leaves. They are in a 10 gallon with a few baby guppies and some apple snails.
My question is, will the adult apple snails (or the babies for that matter) eat the eggs?
I'd really like to raise these otos, so I can move the snails into another tank if needed.
What about the guppy babies? They are not "fry" really, but I'd say pre-teen or so :)
So, anyone know if the eggs are safe in this tank? For that matter, would the oto parents eat them?
Thanks!!!
Kim

Snails are a no-no around eggs.

Ooh, one more question - I forgot I also have a YoYo Loach in that tank - will he eat eggs or fry too?
Kim

Agreed- get that loach out of there or he'll finish them off in no time!

Big congrats to you on the eggs!

LOL - yep, I came home to find a really FAT loach and no eggs! Oh well. I've just set up another 55 gallon and when it's cycled really well, I'll move the loaches and try breeding the otocinclus again :)
