ottos???

I was always worried to buy any, but since the clown plecos didn't seem interested in the algae, I took a shot. Two weeks in, and they still have their guts. I'm so happy!

Plus, the pictus didn't eat them! :headbang2:

Could you do the rock in the bucket way of growing algae in the winter?
That's the flaw in the plan when you live in areas where winter is prominent. I live in the tropics so I don't have that kind of problem except on rainy days, of course. Substitute would be lighting but you spend part of your cash for electricity bill anyway.

I have 2 oto's in with my male betts in a 10 gallon tank. They have been doing great. Just make sure you have a good algae source for them.
Try to get at least 3. I have to get another one pretty soon since the one died a while ago.

update::
the ottos are doing GREAT!! They ripped through all the diatom that I had and are eating the wafers at night just fine!! They are so cute!! Thanks for all your help!!
