I purchased a pleco about 2 months ago. I feed him algea pelets everyday and veggies(zuchini, carrots, spinach, melon) every other day. He eats continuously. Is this normal? The veggies are also for my snails. But every time the snails start to eat, my pleco thumps them off. He is very greedy.

Most animals that eat only veggie matter pretty much tend to graze all the time. There is much fewer calories in veggie matter. So it is normal for a pleco to graze all day.

most plecs will eat all the time if they can. A lot of they will chew on bogwood, plants, algae, left over fish food as well as any food you feed them.

Most plec keepers do not feed them as often as you though. But, if he is eating it all relitivley quickly that is ok.
