Oxygen Bubbles in Tank

I just recently purchased a 29 gallon aquarium and have had fish in it for about a month now. The tank is stocked with 6 Zebra Danios, 10 Neon Tetras and 2 Albino Catfish. The fish all seem to be getting along and doing well. However, once in awhile my tank seems to be filled with quite a bit of small bubbles. It isn't noticible when the overhead light isn't on, but when the light is on it's quite noticible. Are these oxygen bubbles? and is this something I should be worried about.

Strange. You'll see bubbles within the first day or two of a tank being set up, but that's usually all. Unless you have live plants in there that are so healthy they're "pearling," which usually takes a lot of extra efforts and CO2 injection.

Er ... do you have plants in there?

I don't think it's anything to worry about. What type of filter are you using, and does it stir up the water surface quite a bit? Or are you using an airstone? Those might introduce a bit of oxygen in there. Hmmmmm.

What kind of filter? In my big tank, when the water gets a little low and the water dropping into the tank gets a little louder, I see a lot of bubbles on top. Maybe thats heppening to yours also.

Thanks for your insight NJ Devils Fan, the water in my tank was down a little and the water run off from my filter was causing the bubbles. I added water to my tank, and problem solved.

I live just outside of Calgary, so even though its hard to admit, I'm a Flames fan. Our team sucks this year, just don't have the money to spend on quality players.

NJ is just kind of hiding in the weeds this year, not making a lot of noise, but with Brodeur in net they can definately make a run.

I think you are talking about last year because this year they are doing nasty. They are 2nd in the east. They allowed the least goals in the whole league and are on an 9 game unbeaten streak. Who is the flames' goalie?

Do you notice it soon after a water change? The dissolved gasses often get knocked out of solution and accumulate on tank surfaces.

The Devils are doing well this year, although they are still a ways behind Ottawa in the Conference.

Burns is a great coach and gets the most out of his players. Would like to see Elias score more, I have him in my draft.

Calgary's goalie is Roman Turek, he can be awesome one night, then terrible the next.
