can frozen blood worms contain parasites? is it bad to feed blood worms to your fish every 2nd or 3rd day? my loaches won't seem to touch the flake or bottom feeder pellets but they love there blood worms... will it hurt them?

it shouldnt, if you have the frozen kind it shouldnt matter too much... but if your going to just feed the loaches I would get a turkey baster and put it at the bottom of the tank for them (I do and they love it)

Actually, I would lighten up on the bloodworms, I only feed bloodworms twice per week, Bloodworms have been know to cause intestinal Blockage is fish. Now, Let me suggest some Bio-Blend Bottom Feeder Food for your Clowns, When I had clowns theY loved them

great tip on the baster... i've been wondering how to make sure my plec gets some veggie flake

as far as i know, if its frozen, that should kill most everything thats harmful. there are a few exception, bacterial endospores and parasitic cyst phases, that can survive subfreezing temps, but nothing to worry about.

i feed my fish freezedried tubifex worms sometimes with no ill effects, and thats a MUCH greater risk than bloodworms.

feed away

I feed bloodworms every 2-3 days for my carnivorous fish who won't eat flakes/pellets/etc. Haven't had problems yet.

thanks guys!!

^^ some excellent answers. i'll try to lighten up how much i'm feeding them hehe!
