Does anyone have a parrot chiclid? I have one that is pink and very precious! I got "her" as a Christmas present. Just curious to know if anyone out there has one.

What you have is actuially a blood red parrot cichlid of a pink variety. This fish is actually a hybrid and does not occur in nature (A mix of a few central american cichlids). Hybrids are a very touchy subject. I am not sure if they are really bred to be pink or if it is dyed that way. Dying fish is also a very touchy subject.
I do not own any but from what I can tell many people have them. I have a friend that has one. He likes it...I hybrid fish isn't for me. I find the fish available in nature are nice enough.
An actual parrot cichlid is a very nice fish from South America (Hoplacharus Psittacus). They get quite big. Your should only get around 8".
