Hi Im kinda new to cichlids and i was wondering about a tankmate for a parrot cichlid. Any suggestions would be appriciated.

Parrot Cichlid Tankmate???

how big is your tank? If it is 55 gal or bigger a severum would be a good fish to put in there. Most are real cool with good personalities.
Are we talking about the real parrot cichlid or the blood parrot hybrid cichlid?
If we are talking about the hybrid, they get along with several different kinds of fish. Just make sure none of them can fit into the parrot's mouth because they will eat smaller fish when the fancy strikes them. Convicts are good tankmates. Personally, I have several different fish with my 2 blood parrots. I have a couple of misfit African cichlids, Cupid cichlid, small blue acara, sajica, stray feeder goldfish and some bottom feeders (vampire pleco, bristlenose pair & algae eater).

I have him in a 30 gal tank. He is a hybrid, but I know he is not full grown so I don't know how big his mouth will get. My luck I'll get a beautiful fish and he'll eat it. Thanks
