Parrot Cichlids with Firemouths

I have 8 parrots together right now and 5 small firemouths in a growout tank. I'm just wondering if they will be ok as tankmates.
I have two parrot ciclids. They are doing quite well and are housed with two tiger Oscar ciclids. I was told that parrots should only be kept with other ciclid species. They may be agressive toward the firemouths.

Firemouths are cichlids and will coexist with parrots happily.

Blood Parrots/parrots?

Yeah when you say Parrot Cichlid can I assume your not talking about the true parrot cichlid, Hoplarchus psittacus?

It should be fine, provided all fish are of similar size. My firemouth has been known to be quite aggressive in the past, but has mellowed out considerably since being upgraded from 55 to 75 gallons. He lives in relative peace in the 75 with a BP, jack dempsey, and gold severum.

You're going to need a very large tank to house all your cichlids in the future. I hope that a 6 foot 150 gallon or larger is in the works for you, and as always, buy the largest tank you can afford.
