I've come to a point where I don't grab up every tank I find anymore. I've passed up a few. One which I now regret.
Others I'm glad I let go.
I wanted a 29 gal and am still in the market. Our local thrift store down the street had one. I kept watching it, but it was beat up with chips on the sides, and the price was high for the condition.
I'm glad I let it go now.
Lately I passed up a 100 gal for $50...Really tempting but I had to think realistically and the only spot for a larger tank is next to my 55 gal setup at my parents house in the cellar. If if it's not acrylic and I can't haul it down stairs, not use putting myself at risk. I'll probably "hit myself" later when the timing is right where I have a more permanent residence and can take in such a nice deal. Such is life right?...Someone else has probably already snapped up that bargain.

Agreed! I still have to convince my parents to let me buy a 29 or 37 gallon. (With my own money) To them, its most likely a "monster" aquarium. :screwy:
 
I had to actually dump tanks because I had too many... I have a 29 sitting on my front porch right now waiting to go into dry storage along with the 3 other 29's, 15 long old skool, 20 long, 4 10's, and the 150. I'll be dumping a 55 acrylic soon and probably a 15 high.

Recently dumped a 75 long acrylic, 62, 37, 55 acrylic, 55 AGA, 2 older 29's and couple of 10's, and I still have 10 tanks in the house running and 2 more I will pick up the first week in Dec since the people don't want them anymore. Supposed to be a 20 and a 54 bow front but I find half the time the tanks are smaller or bigger than what they tell me.
 
I gave away a 75 and 120 :)
 
Same here I wont take anything fantastical deal unless its short enough to be a sump or big enough to replace my 6o and 80 tanks, nothing under 150 and nothing longer then 6ft and more then $200 tank and stand in working condition. But I would take a cracked tank if it was 300-500 and cost me less then $100. I just couldn't pass those up even though I do not have the room but I would immediately transplant my two 80's and for a 300-500 I would transplant my 100 and 60 even if I had to make tank dividers LOL.

Then I would sell my old tanks and stands for a great deal even if I had to beautify them like my 100 to sell them. I sure I could get rid of my refinished Oceanic for $200. Buy low sell low that is my motto.
 
i pass them up solely for the fact that i cant find places to put them because i really don't have a stable home (i'll be one place for a couple months then another for a couple and so on). right now the only tanks i wont pass up are metal rimed ones and if i'm ever able to find a 40 gallon breeder for a half decent price.
 
I'm still kicking myself very hard for not picking up the 55 gallon acrylic a couple years ago. I now have been looking for a standard 55 galloner ever since with the right background color.

that was the only thing that I have kicked myself for over passing up good deals.

now and then I'll probably have to bite the bullet and say no more tanks-
 
I wouldn't pass up a great deal...especially like a 100 gallon for $50...even if it was just to fix it up and sell it for a bit more.
