I recently added a much needed fixture to my hood over my 100 gallon. I had 110 watts of PC on either side, but the middle had an unsightly gap.
I figured I would add one more fixture, and get up to a respectable 3+ wpg.
There was a 96 watt powercompact fixture I picked up from Big Als. The problem is it came with a "smartlamp" which was half 10k and half Actinic blue.
The bulbs I already had in were 5000k and i loved the look the game the tank, a nice slightly yellow look worked great with the cardinals in it and plants.
Now i have a zone of bluish white light in the middle if I use the bulb that came with it, but I have nice light on either ends. I was wondering if anybody had seen a 5000kor perhaps 6700 "smartlamp" PC fixture. This is the lamp which is only about 20" long and has 4 tubes to it. I see them on the www.customesealife.com site , but can't find them at big al's which is usually a sign of not being able to find it anywhere.
