hi all,
i have four reasonably mature peacock bass(cichla occelaris) in a 6x2x2 tank with an eheim 2260
running in it 24/7.
The other in habitants include a barramundi(lates calcifer),3 silver sharks,a common plec (hypostomus plecostomus) and 2 male cons (which give me the sh*ts as they are just too big to be eaten).
The bass are all between 8 and 10 inches and one is much larger than the other three (height and bulk wise). levels are fine and the water is crystal clear (thankyou 2260). i feed them chopped up prawns, mulies(pilchards)and flounder fillets as well as the occasional live goldie or mosquito fish for a challenge even though the longest a feeders lived in there is a good 6 seconds.
im sure anyone who owns one would know what im talking about
are there any special conditions to get them to spawn and also how big must they get before maturity hits.
thanks
