peacock pros and cons

we are getting guineas for pest control (we have insane amounts of bugs) in a few weeks, and i want to get peacocks to like my friend has, however, my parents arnt wild about the idea, can you give me the pros and cons to keeping them?

lol like a peacock bird? i remember as a child someone kept a peacock bird as a pet and that was super awesome

Peacocks are loud and have a bad habit of running away if they're not fenced in. Just FYI.

my buddy keeps them free range with his guineas and they dont escape, i suppose theres something you have to do in order to get them free range. we have alot of land tho, so i dont think noise will be a problem, the dogs never shutup

As long as you get them as babies and keep them penned up until they are adults they should stick around. If you buy adult birds they will more than likely wander off.

I would think that you would need to build a large structure for them. Make sure to keep them pinned up at night so coyotes don't get them.

yea, my friend penned them until they were free range, now they live in the trees at night. thats what im hopin for.
