I have never had Kribs and have had the urge to give them a try. I have six coming on Tuesday.

This is what I have at the moment:
72 g with eheim 2026, aquaclear 402 powerhead split into two jets
The tank is well planted with a stable ph of 6.7.

I have 8 cardinal tetras, 5 serpae tetras, 5 head and tail light tetras, 4 pygmy cories, 1 green cory, 4 clown loaches, 4 ottos, bristlenose pleco.

Anything I should know about kribs from someone with personal experience? I have read so many differing opinions on water parameters, that I think mine will be fine.

Your water sounds like it would be great for kribs. Make sure the serpaes don't chase them around, but in that big of a tank you should have no problems keeping them and probably will even get them to spawn.
 
Thanks, that is what I am hoping. I would love for them to spawn. I have lots of caves for them to hide in. Do they particularly like any special food? Or do they need a certain temp. to spawn in. Most sites give differing advice. One said pH must be 7.5 and another said ph should be 6.5. Oh well, guess i will just try it and see.
 
I think they will spawn at a pH that high, but most literature sources seem to promote an acidic one. No certain temp., just keep it between 78-82. That should suffice. Food would be whatever they eat, though live foods seem to entice them to breed more. I'd feed alot of frozen brine shrimp and maybe blood worms with a staple pellet diet.
 
In a tank that size I really doubt you'd have much problems. Someone might get knocked around, but not killed. And the others will learn to stay away from that corner of the tank, which is where I would place your clay pots or whatever you're using as caves.
 
i have 1 pair of kribs in a 55g. you can click on my tank specs below to see tank mates.

i started with 2 females in this tank. the dom beat on the sub pretty bad. a week later, i added 2 males. the fireworks really started then. after the dom/sub pairs were determined, dom pair would go out on the prowl almost seeming to hunt down the subs just to give them a thrashing. i gave the dom pair to a friend and kept the sub pair.

they live well with the other tank mates, but when breeding time come around, things change. they dont intentionally harass anybody, but the guard their tree stump vigorously. i have a bristlenose pleco that doesn take anything off of them and a CAE that is much smaller than them, but doesnt take anything either. the pleco seems to stumble his way under the stump occasionally, and that freaks the parents out pretty bad. eventually, they run him off.

kribs are easy to breed. ive done nothing to encourage it in my tank and just yesterday, they presented what i think is their 7th brood since november. i have baby kribs out the wazoo. most of them are growing out in a 10g. i hope to get them their own 20l or 30l by the end of summer.

edit - you may have problems with that many in that tank, but i believe there are other people on this board who have had success with multiples in a tank about that size.

If I get a definite pair I will trade the rest back to the LFS. I have one clay pot, one cave, and 3 coconut shells for hiding, plus three pieces of driftwood, and lots of plants. I am sure these will be juvies, so it may take a while for me to see pairs forming.
