I have two 200s in my 36g (yes, I love to overfilter) and my experience echos all the others -- the back 1/4 of my tank is open so I get some evap and the filters definitely tell me when I need to add a little, but when the water level is maintained, they are very quiet.

I also have a hot magnum and whisper 60(set on low) going on the other side. I just planted it and I'm just using flourish excel(for co2), so the bio-wheel will be alright for now. I will be getting a eheim 2233 soon, and setting up a diy o2 system going in to it.
