penn-plax cascade 1500 and filter fiber questions?

How good is the penn-plax cascade 1500? a 75 gallon i plan on buying comes with one. i was planning to do this and a sunsun that has 375 gph also. for filter fiber how often should i replace this or can i just swish it around in old tank water?

Well I'm pretty sure they rate the 1000 for a 75g (that's on the box so it is probably better for a 50g) so I'd say the 1500 is perfect for it. I'm running a 700 that came with my 50g off CL and while It's probably a little less than desirable it has done great since it cycled.

those cascades are decent filters. Replace the floss when you notice the flow diminishing.

I have to say that even though there are some skeptical reviews out there on the Cascades, I have a 1200 that has run flawlessly without issue for 3-1/2 years.

I have had pretty good experiences with penn plax products no matter what, though I think they were mostly small animal things. But I do know I have had great experiences with their items no matter what it was.
