I have one albino tiger oscar (7+ inches) one firemouth cichlid (6+ inches) 3 african cichlids (one 6" one 4" one 3") one bloody parrot (6" +) one jack dempsey (4-5") one giant gouramis (5") one peacock eel (7 - 8") two plecos (one 7-8" the other about 4") one silver dollar (about 5" in diameter)

A pretty big family owned pet store in a city near where i live is interested in taking in my fish for store credits (a gift card that i can spend at there store of course) and im wondering what i should maybe expect to get from all these guys. they are all very healthy and active. i go in a few days to take them (im taking them without knowing what ill get, yes. but i have to get rid of them no matter what.) i know i have quite a bit of money in them. just wondering what everyone here thinks the value of each of these fish are. thanks.

I'd estimate $50-60 if they're feeling generous that day. maybe.

60-70 and deal... can buy all those back... maybe.

If there are any clubs in your area, I'd inquire about bringing them to a swap meet or auction before I'd bring them back to a store. If that is not an option, be advised that most stores will offer very little, if anything for fish, despite what they charge for them.

I guess what I'm saying is htat anything over $30-40 would be gravy - at a store. If your tank is not large enough to continue to house them comfortably, it's probably a good deal as long as you aren't getting out of the hobby (making the store card worthless to you).

or you could try aquabid for local pickup. i can't see where you are located, but maybe there are enough people in your area that would see your fish there. worth a try, i don't think it costs anything to list an auction.

I took some things into my LFS today, their policy if they are going to resell the fish is either store credit for 1/2 what they would sell for, or cash at 1/3. If they are only taking it to adopt out, they dont' give credit.
