just started yesterday. idk if anyone knows.

You get the tank, hood, and light.

idk if this is as good as petco's dollar per gallon sale. I wanted to pick up some 20L tanks, but it doesnt seem like those are part of the sale because the starter kits don't exist?
 
for large tanks, it's about the same... maybe better. for small tanks, it's definitely better. plus, aqueon > top fin imo.

as far as 20L goes, you can buy the 29g kit. Just "lose" your receipt and go exchange the 29 bare tanks for 20Ls and some store cred :thm:

that is a pretty good idea. do they take tanks back without the receipt?
they have the reg 20g setup, 40.00. I really wanted the 20Ls for my BNs.

and by starter kit, i mean it only comes with hood and lights, not filter.
Shouldn't the petco dollar per gallon be soon?

we don't know until we get the sale labels and a truck full of tanks, and that's only a week before the sale. And Petsmart/Petco can decline an exchange without a receipt, but if the tanks are still in 100% condition and sellable, they'll probably exchange it.
 
The Petco one ended just a couple months ago in my area. There probably won't be another until around September. It seems to come semi-annually. I probably should keep better track of the dates it runs, just to see. It's a shame, because while I *may* be able to talk the wife into a 20 long, I've gotten her talked into a 75 for a saltwater set up (when we get around to doing it), but that's excluded from the sale.

Petsmart doesn't sell many tank sizes by themselves anymore. Very few in fact. One that they do still sell by itself for ~$33 regular price is the 20L. I just bought one a week or two ago. It's under their "Great Choice" line and is just a normal Aqueon/All-Glass tank. The same tank at Petco under the Aqueon name was ~$44 regular price.

Sounds like an OK deal for $40 if you don't mind a standard fluorescent T8 hood and a 20H tank. The only tank/light kits I've seen at Petsmart are 10, 20H, 29 and maybe 55.
 
i saw that they had them for $33. Thats really not a bad deal.

Off topic question.
Where do you go about getting an iron stand to hold two 20Ls? One on top, one on bottom.

I recently bought the only tank available at Petsmart
that didn't include the hood for my already too full closet.

20 long $32.00

Right now in Bloomington, Indiana
is the two dollar a gallon at Petsmart (hoods for closet included)

I went to Petco site clicked on local ads enter my zip code and found
