Petsmart or BigAls?

The best way to decide is to visit the store once or twice a week for a couple of weeks. Also ask when they get their fish in, that way you can see new arrivals, and how they look. Just spending some time seeing how the fish behave, if they look healthy, if they're properly placed (like no mollys with oscars  ) will be the best way to decide where to get the fish

Thers a Big Al's in Florida!??! WHERE?!?! Is it anywhere near Orlando?

I wanna Big Als too. I order from them online though but it just isn't the same.

I do get fish at Petsmart, and so far no problems.

The closest large fish store to me would be that fish place in Lancaster PA..

It's about a 2 hour drive, give or take

Unfortunately with the price of Gas (And the fact that the wife always spends more in the Gap clearance store before I even get to look at fish) It's prudent to buy locally..

It is always awesome to go and look at the variety in the fish room though.

Linked for anyone who's never heard of the place

I do the great majority of my online supply shopping at That Fish Place. For fish purchases, I usually stick to The Pet Shanty, Ocean Gallery II, and Animals & Things.

That Fish Place is about an hour from me so I just make monthly trips. For such a HUGE store they maintain quality really well. I haven't ever bought from them online before.

I live about 10 minutes from the Tamarac Big Al's store. It is the first and flagship store of Big Al's in the USA.

I am Canadian but have been here in Fort Lauderdale studying for the last 3 years, and have been lost in terms of finding fish because in Canada I used to go over to Big Al's and find Everything. Commons, exotics, special orders, exotic aquatic plants, everything.

THere are two more florida Big Al's locations in planning, One in West Palm Beach and another in Miami.

There will be more in the USA trust me, the store in Tamarac is always PACKED.
