These Pandas Rock
As far as I know Petsmart does not have a corporate price match program in place, even from their own web site. I do know that store managers have the authority to drop a price. It really depends on how well the store performs. A better performing store is able to slash prices on slower moving products.
If you are wanting to match the price from their own web site and they have the exact same item, then I would get the STORE manager involved.
Also, don't be afraid to walk out empty handed. Unless you really really need the item. You might even get the manager to go outside after you.
Don't loose your cool, just tell them that you would like them to match the price from the web site and you have been told from people all over the country that the Petsmart they go to has this practice in place. Don't cause a ruckus, but be firm and show them that you are willing to go somewhere else. Is there a Petco in town? A Walmart? I am sure those two words will get them to jump. Use them on the way out the door. If you are buying other stuff, have your cart full THEN ask for the price match and manager. If they won't budge, walk away from the whole cart saying, "from now on I am going to Petco".
Don't make too big of a deal, they won't want to help you if you are too disruptive, but if you seem like a level headed good customer, they are not gonna want to see you walk.
You have to decide how big of a deal it is. You also might want to go back in the store one day, so don't go way overboard. If you threaten to walk, then you need to walk and stay away for a bit.
