Hes not active at all and hasnt eaten.

All the other fish are doing fine nothing is wrong setup is over 1 yr old

any advice or comments would be apperciated thank you

what are you trying to feeding him? Not to mention, if you just got him sunday, today is wednesday. Some fish take longer getting used to their surroundings.

ive tried to feed him yesterday. I tried mysis and squid . I know its early, it just seems really odd, hes a little too scared, my friend has one and it was very very active. I know every fish is differnt but he doesnt match anything other than the hiding thing. i can understand not eating yet. but im just worried on the hiding so much

yes i watched him for a week at the lfs he was eating and very active i just dont know if im doing something wrong. I introduced him slowly 45 min.

He might still be getting used to the new tank. I know I'm sure you've heard it before but you really should QT fish before you put them in the tank. At first, I didn't QT either but I lost a fish because he was so frightened by his new surroundings and all the fish checking him out. Now that I QT fish I've found it much easier to get them to eat and get used to seeing me and associating me with food so by the time they get put into the main tank they are happy and doesn't take long for them to get used to everything.

Hopefully he will come around and get used to everything though

45 minutes isn't exactly slowly. Most on the forum slowly (over a 2-4 hour period, depending on the fish and the SG of the LFS water and DT/QT tank water) match the water to the tank it is going into. Rarely are they similar enough to only need 45 minutes to accomplish that.

Agreed, I lost an entire 75g tank with stock due to not QT'ing an anthias. I again had to rip apart the 75g and currently am treating the new inhabitants for ich.

If that didn't teach me to QT everything I have plans to buy, then I'm just insane lol.

i usually do QT but i currently have dragon wrasse recoving from ich from a different tank. My bad!!! i could have slowed it down more. hopefully when i get home hes out. Ill i can do is wait for now. thanks for the help

hmm....i've hade a picasso before there generally hardy fish. if it's only an inch im assuming it's the smallest fish you have? it should be out and about it's a mellower one of the triggers but mine had bold behavior i love these fish the remind me of a helicopter the way they swim....usually they hook the dorsal fin and hook it to a rock to hide maybe thats what yours is doing. once it realizes that nothings going to munch him he should be out quite a bit.
