davexstumpe . . . is that a German Blue Ram (GBR) in your avitar? Those are beautiful. How many would go nicely in the 55? Seems like I have read a lot of posts that they are hard to keep. Any words of wisdom on these? I don't know if I want a red tailed shark, but I like the idea of the rams and some killies. I will read up on these. Thanks.

yes it is a GBR,. i think they are the most beautiful FW fish by far, but thats my opinion.

a RTS would be a bit iffy anyway in the setup, my buddy has a RTS with a pictus and some rummies and they are fine, but RTS's are unique with their personalities.

Personally i would add a pair (male and female) in a 55. Gold rams are a nice option too, you could adda pair of both or just 1, but youve got some options.

I've had really good success with my GBRs but a LOT of people have problems. It really depends on the breeder and where they come from. Try to avoid asian bred rams at all costs.

As for the killies, i think they are a great top dweller in my setup. And they get to be about 4 inches long, so they are a nice size.
