Last night my we went to move one of my pictus catfish to the larger tanks because he was eating all the food in my smaller one and my baby pleco was starving. My husband volunteered for the task and I told him not to use the net to catch him because of the spines on the fins. Well, my husband tried to catch him in a plastic container - for about 30 seconds he tried. Then grabbed the net and thought he could catch him without getting the fins caught. Needless to say the pectoral fin got caught in the net.

After seriously considering strangling my husband, I cut the net away. The problem is, there is still a tiny piece caught on his fin. It isn't imepeding his swimming at all, and doesn't really seem to be bothering him, so my question is: Shoud I try to catch him and get it off with tweezers and scissors (not an easy task since these little buggers MOVE!) or will it work its way off in time?

Thanks!

it will fall off, all my cats I move by hand or container, (plecs by hand everyone else a larrge cup)

The net is still on my catfish, how long should I give it to fall off before I start to worry about trying to remove it myself again?
